Kathmandu, October 17 – Nepal has set a formidable target of 212 runs for Samoa in the final of the Super Six stage of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific Qualifiers.

Batting first after losing the toss at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Al-Amir, Nepal posted a total of 211 for four in their allotted 20 overs.

Openers Ashif Sheikh and Dipendra Singh Airei anchored the innings with half-centuries. Ashif scored 69 off 41 balls, including seven fours and four sixes, while Dipendra contributed 53 runs in 33 deliveries, hitting two fours and four sixes.

Other notable contributions came from Lokesh Bam, who remained unbeaten on 39, captain Rohit Kumar Poudel with 21 not out, Kushal Bhurtel scoring 17, and Arif Sheh adding nine. For Samoa, bowlers Soumani Tai, Darius Visser, Noah Mead, and Dennis Varg each claimed one wicket.

Having already secured a place in the Super Six, Nepal can finish on top and clinch the qualification trophy with a victory over Samoa today. The team has remained unbeaten since the group stage.

Nepal is aiming for its first qualification title while keeping its winning momentum. Samoa, meanwhile, is looking for a consolation win to end their Super Six campaign on a positive note.
